If you are considering taking up swimming then it is important to find a pool that suits your needs. Public pools tend to vary quite widely, so try a few out before settling on one. Maybe health clubs have their own pools, which tend to have a higher standard of facilities.

What to wear

Try and find swimwear that is both comfortable for swimming but also makes you feel comfortable in yourself. You will find that you enjoy your swim much more, if you are not worrying about how you might look.

Joining a club

If you find that you really enjoy swimming and want to enjoy trainer with other swimmers then you can always join a swimming club. Not all swimming clubs are searching for the next Ian Thorpe, so why not enquire at your local baths.
