Finding enough food for a dinner for a hungry band of outlaws, in Sherwood Forest, wasn’t easy. Hunting, hawking and poaching any of the king's beasts would be punished by death.
In this period the menu for special occasions was colourful and recipes were highly flavoured with herbs and spices. So Robin and his merry band of outlaws would forage for roots, herbs and wild grasses if Marion was to be entertained at Robin’s dinner party or to stay fit and healthy for their robbing and continuing battle with the Normans.
