Ideas for a dinner party
The twelve courses of this Royal feast and now our themed dinner party have been cleverly re-created for you by our historic cookery expert - Carol Wilson of the British Guild of Food Writers. Carol’s recipes and menu truly reflect the era and provide a dinner far more nourishing than today. The dinner party pack contains booklets, illustrated recipes, menus, invites, a music CD, trivia, organising instructions and much more.
The 60-minute CD of Tudor music will ensure your guests are put in the mood as will the jug of Hippocras one of Henry’s favourite tipples. At the end of the dinner party play our trivia game and see how much you really know about the gargantuan King.
We know that Henry loved his food and ate heartily – one of his more lavish dinners is recorded as having lasted seven hours! So by the time Henry was fifty it was not surprising that he had a 57inch chest and a 50inch waist!
