St Johann in Tirol (Austria)
St Johann was an ideal destination for a short ski trip. We flew with Ryanair from Stansted to Salzburg early morning, an hours transfer and we were in the resort, and by lunchtime we had sorted out ski equipment and were on the slopes. St Johann is situated at the foot of the Kitzbuhler Horn mountain, which offers a nice range of ski for all abilities, the number of pistes was ideal for our 4 day break with plenty of long intermediate runs. Nightlife is probably a litle quiet compared to some resorts although special mention must go to Bunnys Pub (an Australian establishment) which was a great place to spend the evenings. Plenty of drunken Karaoke including a fantastic rendition of 100 miles by the Proclaimers! I would give St Johann 7/10... but it was just what we wanted!
